I am Jaume Freire González, a tenured Research Scientist at the Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE-CSIC) and an Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE). I hold a PhD in Applied Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). I have worked as a Beatriu de Pinós researcher at ENT Foundation, as a postdoctoral researcher at the Environmental Change Institute of the University of Oxford and at the Department of Economics of Harvard University with a Marie Curie Global Fellowship. I have also worked as a consultant for many governments and institutions. I conduct applied research on several issues related to environmental and ecological economics, but my main areas of work are energy and climate change economics, environmental taxation and water economics. I assess environmental policies, from an academic and a policy-making perspective.
